My movie, music, journalistic and literary projects…
What’s happening?
My original short film For the Love of Song is in post-production and will hopefully be released by fall 2012. Shot in Saskatoon and staring Nathan Howe and Becky Flemming, the movie is about an aspiring songwriter who gives up on love and his music career until he falls for the woman who sells his guitar.
The film was shot in the summer/fall of 2011 on a whopping budget of $500, most of which was donated by friends and relatives. (Thank you!). The movie features original music by Chris Donlevy, James Ramsay, All of the Above, and me.
You can pre-order an autographed DVD of the movie for $25.00. Cheques payable to Richard Medernach (142 Quill Cres, Saskatoon, S7K 4T9) or cash. I cannot currently accept online payment for this project. Contact me at richardmedernach@gmail.com if you have questions.

I am also doing the initial research for a documentary film that I hope to produce in the future. Its working title is What In the Name of God? and it will address the question, “what good is done in the name of God in the modern world?”. It will examine how people with religious beliefs are motivated to make the world a kinder and more just place and how they act to accomplish that.
I hope to collaborate with writer/educator and aspiring documentary filmmaker, Caitlin Ward who has expressed interest in the project.
