So I have edited and refined my script and I am happy with several small changes I made to the story.  Currently I am creating my shot list.  If you have never worked on a movie before, nor paid attention to all the cuts and camera movements in films you watch, it is amazing how many shots it takes to get a two or three minute scene to look just right. So I am breaking down my script into the shots that I imagine will look best.

Once I have a complete shot list, the next step will be to create a storyboard … which should be fun because I cannot draw beyond a grade 4 level.  When I have some pictures done, I’ll post them for a good laugh. A storyboard is like a comic strip version of my script. It helps my cinematographer understand my vision for the movie.

I am excited to announce that my former Harmony Impaired partner Jim Ramsay is contributing a song to the movie, as is Clark Jaman.  I also have license to use a song from All Of  The Above.  I will also be contributing some of my own songs to the movie and I am awaiting a song from Chris Donlevy that is being written specifically for my film.

About Richard Medernach

I like carrots. I don't like radishes. I like beer and I think people should be more compassionate and less ignorant (me included).

well richard I am in the middle of my 100 day sabbatical-renewal program
here near Santa De – it is very good – 21 participants ad five staff and the
program is very envigorating and interesting. There are 8 priests, 2
brothers and 11 nuns – from Africa, Ireland, England, Australia – and me
technically from Canada – hahahahah – anyway I had a chance to listen to the
five songs on there and I enjoyed them very much – is the script available
online? or arent you ready to show that? Moira Day sent me a ntoe she got
from Margaret Sanche that Margaret Dutli was starting dementia and that her
90th birthday is coming up. Good luck with your movie? Do you plan to film
    it this summer?

  2. Hi Ed (or should I say ee cummings with all your lower case type?)

Sounds like your sabbatical is just the thing for your weary bones – and your mind and spirit, of course. Don’t forget to say “eh” as often as you can. “Oh for sure, eh?” and such. I’m sure you miss grading papers and makin up exams at this time of year. :-)

I will film my movie this summer and release it in the fall. If you have a mailing address by then, I’ll send you a DVD. I won’t publish the script until the film is released (keep the suspense up for marketing purposes, you know). However, if you are really curious, and you promise not to sell my story to some Hollywood studio, I could email you a copy.

    Peace,
    Richard
